STREAMING
Semi-finals and finals will be streamed on twitch.tv/GearsCommunitySeries
Players will be allowed to stream up until that point. During semi's please apply the following rules.
Streaming any tournament match is prohibited. Any player that streams an official match using any live stream platform (Twitch, Beam, Hitbox etc.) will be subject to a DQ.
We reserve the right to stream any match and players must allow broadcasters and staff to join their game. We also reserve the right to enter any Xbox Live party or communication program (Skype, Discord, etc.) in order to do “listen ins” for the duration of the tournament.
All Matches are to be played on Gears 5’s Gridiron game mode, unless otherwise stated.

It is recommended that you take screen shots of each map to provide proof of win in case of a dispute.

Bunker - RL-4 Salvo => Dropshot, Lancer GL => Torque Bow

PICKS AND BANS
Teams will have 15 minutes to begin their map picks and bans. If a team has not initiated contact by 5:15 PM EST. then they will forfeit their match.
If your opponent has not shown up after 15 minutes, then please report your score using the Toornament platform. It's recommended that you take screen shots as proof in case of dispute.
BEST OF 3
The Higher Seeded Team will choose to act as Team A or Team B during the Map Ban process.
The Map Ban process is as follows:
Team A bans 1 Map
Team B bans 1 Map
Team B picks Map 1
Team A picks Faction for Map 1
Team A picks Map 2
Team B picks Faction for Map 2
Team A bans 1 Map
Team B bans 1 Map
Remaining Map becomes Map 3
Team A picks Faction for Map 3
Team that picks faction will Host match.

CHECK-IN & MATCH REPORTING
All match reporting must be done via the tournament page on this website. Teams are expected to be ready to play their match no longer than 15 minutes after the match has been scheduled. Any issues with your match or reporting can be handled in the #match-reporting channel of the official Discord channel found here: https://discord.gg/e6AQmmj
Check-in will be open at 4 PM EST. which is one hour before the tournament starts and will close at 4:45 PM EST. If you do not check-in your team will not be placed in the bracket. Any issues again can be handled in the official Discord.
HOST SELECTION
The higher seeded team (Team listed on top in your match) will host the first map. The lower seeded team will have their choice of COG or Swarm
The lower seeded team will host the second map. The higher seeded team will have their choice of COG or Swarm.
The team with the MOST POINTS through the first 2 maps will host the 3rd map. The other team will have their choice of COG or Swarm.
CHARACTER & WEAPON RESTRICTIONS
Each Team is only allowed one iteration of any character on their Team at one time, irrespective of character skin. For example, “Esports Kait” is the same as “Armored Kait”.
A single COG Team is only allowed 2 female characters

A single COG Team cannot have one Player using a Marcus skin and another using a Batista skin.
A single Swarm Team cannot have one Player using a Locust Bolter skin and another using a Locust Cyclops skin.
A single Swarm Team can have one Player using a Locust Bolter skin and another using a Locust Drone skin.
The following Character skins are banned from play:
Terminator T-800 (Swarm)
Terminator Rev-9 (Swarm)
The following weapon skins are banned from play:
Black Phantom
DISCONNECTS
Gridiron is a game mode that comes WITHOUT stalemates and unfortunately this can be tough when dealing with disconnects.
In order to keep this launch tournament moving, the following rules will apply to disconnects.
Round of 32, 16, 8 - If a player disconnects from the game, the game will continue as normal. If another map is to be played, that player or players will have 5 minutes in the lobby to rejoin or the game will continue as normal.
Semi-Finals and Finals - If a player disconnects from the game, the game will continue as normal for THAT ROUND. At the conclusion of the round, we will back the game out to the lobby and will DUPLICATE the game score up until that point. If a player on the same team disconnects again, the game will continue as normal.
