Official Rules and Regulations

1.0 Team Restrictions:
These rules regard the active roster of a performing team at the tournament.

1.1 Registration
All players on a starting roster have to be actively registered within the system to be considered playable in matches and have to join the LAGA Discord server. A team consists of a minimum of 5 players. The use of unregistered players in a tournament game is considered an automatic forfeit of the current game. Repeated violations or the use of multiple unregistered players may result in the termination of the team from the tournament. The exact tournament format will be dictated by the number of teams entering and will be communicated to all teams in advance. The organizer reserves the right to add or remove players or teams throughout the tournament.

1.2 Native Rule
On an active roster and a playing team at least one out of the five players has to be an active member of Studentlund studying at Lund University.

1.3 Account Primacy
Any account that partakes in the tournament must be registered. A player must register the account they intend to play on and also their main account. Main account in this term is the one that is mainly played on by that player, regardless of region. In the case that the played account and main account are the same, only one account needs to be registered. Any smurf accounts, secondary accounts, or any account outside of the two registered accounts will not be allowed. Change of a registered account must be informed at least 24 hours before the use of that account in tournament play.

1.3.1 Suspection of Violation
Suspected violation of the 1.3 Account Primacy rule, where neither account sees significant play will lead to an investigation by the staff. If the investigation deems that the rule was being violated this will induce the temporary or permanent removal of the player. If you have a suspicion of this violation, let any of the moderation staff know. Staff has the final say in all disputes.

1.3.2 Violation of Registered accounts
If a player utilizes an unregistered account in a tournament then the current match will be considered automatically forfeit and the player will be suspended from play for the rest of the tournament.

1.4 Roster Confirmation
Confirmation of active roster for an upcoming game must be provided with ample time beforehand to ensure fair scouting. These confirmations must be by a team member in the team captain chat on our discord channel. A team may change its starting roster freely before the three-hour mark, even if they have announced its roster.

1.4.1 Emergency Substitutions
A team may incur the emergency substitution rule if needed before a match. A team may substitute one and only one player from a registered active roster. Emergency substitutions grant 1 point accordingly. The collection of 3 points results in exclusion from the tournament.

2.0 Active Game
These rules regard what is forbidden during an active game and the start of it.

2.1 Game start
Team captains are responsible for ensuring their team are ready. A team must be in the game lobby before the intended start of the game. Should a player/team not appear to a match on time, and the other player/team waited for at least 15 minutes after the intended starting time, the win will be granted automatically to the enemy team. This rule may be called null and void in case of delays of schedule from a previous game in the tournament or technical difficulties. This will be announced before the intended game time and will often come with a new starting time.
For ex. If a team has their played match at 17.00 then the following periods for failure to be in the lobby would be considered violations:
Before 17.00: No violations.
After 17.15: Forfeit of the game and automatic win for the opponent.

2.2 Discord during Matches
During official matches, all five playing members must be present in their respective discord channels on LAGA. It is not allowed to have additional participants in the voice chat. Failure to comply with this rule during matches will be considered an attempt to gain an unfair advantage, which will result in the active match being considered forfeit.

2.3 Use of Third-party Programs
Any third-party program or website that allows an unfair advantage to one competitor is not allowed. Cheating of any kind will result in disqualification and blacklist of your entire team (includes glitches, stream sniping, hacks, etc).

2.4 Matchfixing
Matchfixing, intentionally throwing games and wintrading are strictly forbidden. If there is suspected foul play, an investigation will be launched by the committee. If there has been foul play, all violators of the rule will be permanently banned from the event and all future LAGA Esports events, without appeal.

2.5 Good Mannerisms in Game
Team Captains are responsible for the actions and behavior of their team and must act as a point of contact for the team. The use of foul language, discriminatory behavior, and harassment directed toward other players are not allowed in-game. There is a zero-tolerance policy against these behaviors, which is why a violation of this rule will grant a temporary suspension. Repeated offenses or gross violations can warrant permanent bans from both this event and future LAGA Esports events. You can report violations to our staff which will then investigate the incident.
