Tournament rules
You do NOT need to be a member of the USTA to participate.
You do NOT need to be a resident of the US to participate.
Official game rules are used, except where changed below.
Games are to be played on size 6 board with time controls set at 15 +10.
Please coordinate your matches on Discord in the #tournaments channel.
Players must complete 2 matches per week.
Each match consists of 2 games, where the players alternate starting colors.
Scoring is Win, Loss, or Draw.
Tournament format is: Groups of Round Robin (everyone plays everyone else in their group) and then a playoff between the top contender in each group.
Tiebreaks for Round Robin are built in to Toornament:
Match wins/draws/losses (overall)
Points (head-to-head)
Most played matches
Match score difference (head-to-head)
Match score difference (overall)
If for some reason there remains a tie after these, Blitz matches of 3 +5 time controls on size 6 board, with alternating starting colors will be played until a winner is decided.
Tiebreaks for the Playoff will be Blitz matches as outlined above until a winner is decided.
