King of the Sea VIII: North America

King of the Sea is the premier competitive organization for World of Warships. The format of the event is Tier X ships, 9v9, with limits on the amount of carriers and battleships a team can field.

This event is a four-day tournament that consists of the following rounds:

+ Day 1 - Qualifiers (Sunday, March 3 - 1500 EST)
Non-seeded teams will pariticpate in 7 rounds of swiss style play, once on each map. The top 24 teams will advance to the group stage. Expected duration: 3.5 hours

+ Day 2 - Group Stage (Saturday, March 9 - 1500 EST)
Thirty-two (32) teams (24 qualifiers + 8 seeded teams) will compete in a round-robin group stage consisting of three (3) best of 3 matches. Expected duration: 5 hours.

+ DAY 3 - Elimination Stage (Sunday, March 10 - 1400 EDT)
Sixteen (16) teams from the Group Stage will advance to a series of single-elimination matches. The Round of 16, Quarterfinals, and Semifinals will take place on this day. Expected duration: 6 hours.

+ DAY 4 - Final Four - (Saturday, March 16 - 1400 EDT)
The remaining 4 teams will contest the finals and third place matches in a best of 5 format. Expected duration: 5 hours.

FIRST PLACE: 5,000 doubloons + 5,000 steel
Second Place: 4,000 doubloons + 4,000 steel
Third Place: 2,500 doubloons + 3,500 steel
Fourth Place: 1,500 doubloons + 3,000 steel
Fifth through Eighth Places: 1,250 doubloons + 2,500 steel
Ninth through Sixteenth Places: 1,000 doubloons + 2,000 steel
Seventeenth through Thirty-Second Places: 1,000 doubloons
