Tournament rules
- All games will be played on a 6x6 board.
- Komi of 3 will be used. This means that if nobody gets a road, black has 3 added to there flat count.
- Time control is 15 minutes + 20 seconds per move.
- Scoring 1 for a win, 0.5 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. WHILE GAMES ARE ORGANISED IN MATCHES, SCORING IS BY GAME. So in a two game (group stage) match the possible scores are 0-2, 0.5-1.5, 1-1, 1.5-0.5, and 2-0. Please report the match score correctly as this is automatically used to calculate the standings.
- When reporting a match result please include the playtak IDs of the games (available in History)
- The tournament has 2 stages:
GROUP STAGE
- 3 groups of 6 players each.
- You will play a 2 game match against each opponent in your group.
- This stage will last about 2 weeks. Please play at least your first two match in the first week (that is by Monday April 13th).
ELIMINATION STAGE
- The winner of each group plus the best overall second place player will advance to semifinals.
- Each semifinal and the 3rd place match will consist of 4 games.
- The final will consist of 6 games.
TIE-BREAKS
- The first tie-break is head to head result (only relevant in in the group stage within one group).
- The second tie-break is two games between the tied players.
- The third tie-break is a single game as follows: one player (determined randomly) chooses a half-integer (1.5, 2.5, 3.5, etc.) value of komi, the other player chooses their color.
