NDL (Nordic Dota League) Season 1 - Rules
General information
1.1 NDL is settled according to the following set of rules. These rules apply to all participants, to ensure that players experience a fair and proper league
1.2 Violations of any of the following rules, may result in consequences
1.3 We recommend players to follow the NDL discord, for the best possible experience
Player registration
2.1. In order to participate in the Nordic Dota League, the captain of the team must register his team through our website https://www.nordicdotaleague.com/
2.2 The latest day you can register for NDL is the 28th of March
Team and player requirements
3.1 An average team MMR of at least 5200 is required to participate
3.2 Only players from the scandinavian countries are allowed to join a team ( Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Faroe islands)
System and format
4.1 Group stage ( 29th of March - 3th of June )
- Groups of eight teams
- Single round robin
- All matches are bo2
- 12 teams will advance to the playoffs
- 4 teams across groups will advance to the Upper Bracket
- 8 teams across groups will advance to the Lower Bracket
- The remaining teams across groups are eliminated
- Round robin includes a point system. Teams gain 3 points from a win, 1 point from a tie and 0 points from a loss
4.2 Tie breaker
- If two teams are tied, head to head results will decide the placement
4.3 Playoffs ( 15th May - 3th June )
- Double elimination bracket
- Grand final is a bo5
- Other matches are bo3
Stand-ins
5.1 A maximum of two stand-ins are allowed throughout the league
5.2 Stand ins must be registered as a part of the team. This can be done at any time, should there be a need for it
5.3 Players from other participating teams in the tournament are not allowed to stand in for your own team
5.4 Only stand-ins from Scandinavian countries are allowed
Schedule
6.1 The complete schedule can be found on our website https://www.nordicdotaleague.com/
6.2 Teams play at least 1 series every week
6.3 Rescheduling
- Teams are allowed to reschedule their matches, by contacting their opponent and agreeing on a new time and date
- Teams must inform an admin about the new time and date of the rescheduled match
- Matches must be played within the same week that the original match was scheduled to
- In case there is no agreement about rescheduling, and the team that wants to reschedule isn't able to play on the original time and date, the team will receive a forfeit

7.1 Bo2 matches will involve a side and pick order which is determined by a coin toss. Losers of the coin toss, will have the right to decide whether they want first pick/second pick or Radiant/Dire in the next game
7.2 Bo3 matches will involve a side and pick order which is determined by a coin toss. Losers of the coin toss, will have the right to decide whether they want first pick/second pick or Radiant/Dire in the next game. In case of a third and deciding map, a new coin toss will need to happen
7.3 Teams must use the same dota team and logo throughout the entire season
7.4 Pauses
7.5 Every team can pause the game up to 10 minutes. Upon agreement with the opponent team, a team can pause for longer than 10 minutes
7.6 Before resuming the game, the team who paused the game, must ask the opponent team if they are ready
7.7 Players must inform the opponent team about the reason for the pause
Stream
8.1 Selected matches are streamed every tuesday, which means you will be asked to confirm that you are able to play the given day and time
8.2 The NDL stream will always start at 17:45 CET, and the first match must start at 18:00 CET
8.3 If your match is being streamed, it is required that the captain of the team is active on the NDL discord, and is able to communicate with the admins, to make sure that the stream runs smoothly

9.1 Prizes are distributed to the wished locations. If you are the winner of a prize, information will be exchanged by contacting an admin
