Competition Rules

All players must be current students at a college or university, and all teams must be composed of students from only one college or university.

All games except for the final match will be played online; teams must be aware and commit to in person at Georgia State Stadium November 9th, 2019.

Teams will have no fewer than 5 and no more than 6 players.

Team names may not be obscene or offensive; GSU Esports reserves the right to unilaterally remove from competition any team with a name it deems obscene or offensive, if the team refuses to change it.

Any match may be streamed by GSU.

Players in the final match are not responsible for bringing equipment; computers and peripherals will be provided.

Players in pre-Finals play are responsible for their own setup. If technical difficulties delay the start of a game from its scheduled time by more than 15 minutes, a forfeit of the game or the match may be determined at the discretion of the tournament director.

Teams are required to have at least players ready to begin the match at match start time. If not all players are present, or if a player disconnects from the lobby or champion select, lateness time begins.

Teams may agree to schedule their games for a different time. The date and time listed is the time by which the game must begin, but it can occur before that. We will strive to give teams as much time as is feasible to complete matches.

Teams should use prodraft (http://prodraft.leagueoflegends.com/) to determine picks and bans for the match if either team is concerned that they will not be able to draft correctly due to one or more players not owning all champions. Prodraft is not necessary if both teams agree, but must be used if at least one team requests it. The outcome of the prodraft is binding.

Teams may request a mid-match break in the event of a substitution. The team substituting a player must inform their opponents that which player they are substituting and for whom. The substitute must be a player on their roster. When so informed, the non-substituting team may request a 10-minute break before the beginning of the next game. Teams may not substitute a player mid-game.

Teams are forbidden from fixing or colluding together to determine the outcome of any matches. Any teams or players found to have done this, by any means, may be removed from the tournament at the discretion of tournament officials.

Players must compete on an account that is registered with the tournament, to be determined by username. Any player whose username does not match what is registered with the tournament may be removed from the tournament or otherwise disciplined, at the discretion of tournament officials.

These rules may be clarified or changed at any time. Tournament officials will notify teams through the email addresses provided at registration, and on the tournament discord.

Players should join the tournament discord channel (https://discord.gg/AQ7BJRS), as announcements will be made there, and it may help in scheduling matches.

Match Rules

All matches will be played in Tournament Draft, on Summoners Rift.

The higher-seeded team will have the choice of red or blue side in the first game. Thereafter, the team which lost the previous game will have the choice of side.

Players may pause for up to 10 minutes in a game, due to technical difficulties or personal issues. These must be declared in all chat after a pause is started, and a player from each team must declare “ready” before the game can resume.

If a pause continues longer than 10 minutes, a forfeit of the game or the match may be determined at the discretion of the tournament director.

All games will occur in the tournament game lobbies created by Toornament. No matches will be considered official that occur in private custom games.

For the Game Background/Competitive Experience portion of registration, put information about the players and the team; how long you've been together, how long players have been playing, favorite characters etc. Background for casters.
