SpeenLeague Rules

Section 1: Format
The format is broken into three sections: Group Stages, Playoffs, and Relegations

Group Stage (all players)
- Two groups of 6 players
- One group is for Americas (runs on America times); the other is for Eurasia (runs on Europe times)
- Double round robin Bo3
- Map pool changes between round robin 1 and round robin 2
- All broadcasted Eurasia games happen on Saturday; all broadcasted Americas games happen on Sunday
- Two matches per week (10 matches total)
- Pool results are determined by match record, then game differential, then head-to-head, and finally, by a tiebreaker if all other things are equal
- Top 4 players from each pool advance to the playoff stage
- Bottom 2 players from each pool go to the relegation stage

Playoff Stage (top 4 of each group only)
- Double elimination
- Top player of each group advances to WB Round 2 (semifinal); 4th place player goes straight to LB Round 1; 2nd and 3rd place players of each group face each other in WB Round 1
- WB Round 1 and WB Round 2 will be Bo5
- LB Rounds 1, 2, and 3 will be Bo3
- WB Round 3 (Final) will be Bo7
- LB Round 4 (Final) will be Bo7
- Grand Finals (and possible bracket reset) will be Bo9

Relegation Stage (bottom 2 of each group only)
- Consists of the bottom 2 players from each group and the top 4 non-SpeenLeague players (determined by circuit points)
- Operates on a challenge system: the top eligible non-league players may challenge bottom league players for their spot
- The top 2 non-SpeenLeague players each earn two challenges (but cannot challenge the same person twice); the 3rd and 4th highest non-SpeenLeague players each get one challenge, and may choose before the top 2 players’ second challenges
- The 5th place player of each group may be challenged once; the 6th place player of each group may be challenged twice, but only by two separate people
- All matches are Bo5

Section 2: Picks and Bans
- Picks and bans will work on a Striking system
- Players will both roll in #referee-den, highest roll gets pick of first or second ban
- Players will take turns banning a map until one map is left, this will be the map for the first match
- Loser of the match picks next map until there is a winner
- We will let you know when if we are/aren’t receiving your stream
- When you have completed a map, stay on the results screen until told by a referee that you are okay to move on
- Unnecessary toxicity will result in an immediate DQ
- Any decision made by a TO or Referee is final, arguing will result in further actions outside of the tournament such as a kick or ban from SpinShare

Section 3: Discrepancies
- In the event of a tie or double fail in any round, a random decider map will be pulled from the full map-pool of the current round
- In the event of a hardware lag-spike that causes a noticeable score difference, the player who experienced the lag spike can choose to replay the round, with the other player being allowed to do a second run and take the higher of their scores
- Only one lag-reset per song is permitted
- In the event that a player is unable to stream their matches, they will suffer a match loss for each unfulfilled match after being given reasonable time to correct technical issues.
- In the event that a player changes their in-game settings to something unreasonable, they will suffer a match loss for the first infraction, and a DQ for subsequent infractions.
- In the event that a player cannot make a match during group stage, they will be allowed to reschedule their match offline within the same week, provided they give advance notice (preferably 1 week’s advance notice); without notice, they will suffer a match loss for each unfulfilled match.
- In the event that a player has an incorrect chart, they will be given one reset per match, any further incorrect charts in a match will result in an immediate point loss

Section 4: Scoring towards invitational
- During Group Stage, each player gets 1 point for each match win.
- Players who have reached the SpeenLeague playoffs will automatically earn top 8 seeding for the next SpeenOpen, in the order that they finish (5th-6th and 7th-8th broken by the final position of the person who eliminated them). In addition, they will achieve points towards the Invitational Standings as follows:
1st: 10
2nd: 7
3rd: 5
4th: 3
5th-6th: 2
7th-8th: 1
