1.2 Match format

A match is played on a tournament layer with 36 players on each side. Teams take turns on playing both sides and in the event of both teams winning one round each, whichever team won with more tickets left than their opponent wins the match. If a round runs out of time, the team with the most tickets is counted as the winner. Their total ticket count is their remaining tickets minus the remaining tickets of the opponents.

Points distribution during group stages:

2-0 victory: 2 points
1-1 victory: 1 point

1.2.1 Map Selection

Map selection in the group stages are run on map elimination. A pool of 3 maps with 3 different game modes will be selected and each team gets to eliminate one of these maps each, and the map remaining will be played.

The playoffs will have static maps, with different maps chosen for each round. Division 1 and 2 will not neccessarily have the same maps played.

1.3 Tie-breaking

In the event of a tie, the order of tie-breaking goes as following:

1. Head-to-Head
2. Total number of round wins
3. Tiebreaker match

The number of tickets gathered throughout the tournament does not count as a tiebreaker. The intent is to avoid favoring game plans that may result in higher ticket wins over game plans that might result in a more narrow victory.

1.4 Game version

As Squad is still in development, the tournament will be played on the current stable released patch. This means an older patch may be played in case of stability issues. A tournament branch will be issued to teams.
